After weeks of leaks, packaging photos, and unboxing videos that DJI probably wishes never happened, the company finally made it official yesterday. A teaser dropped on DJI's X account confirming the Osmo Pocket 4 launch for April 16 at 12 PM GMT. No more speculation, no more "alleged" release dates. This one is happening.

The Single-Camera Question Is Answered

The biggest debate in the leak cycle was whether the Pocket 4 would feature a dual-lens setup. Some early renders and wishful thinking had people convinced DJI was going to strap two cameras onto that tiny gimbal head. The teaser puts that to rest: the standard Pocket 4 ships with a single camera on the gimbal, sticking with the same proven form factor that made the Pocket 3 so popular.

But here is where it gets interesting. Multiple sources are now reporting that a Pocket 4 Pro with a dual-camera system is in the pipeline for May or June. So if you were holding out for that second lens, it sounds like DJI is going to give you what you want, just not on day one. This is a smart move. It lets DJI get the core product into hands quickly while building hype for a premium variant that the more demanding creators will happily pay up for.

The Launch Date Moved Up

If you have been following our coverage, you might remember that the initial leaks pointed to an April 20 launch. The official teaser moved that up to April 16, which tells us DJI is probably eager to get ahead of any remaining supply chain leaks. Chinese retail deliveries are expected around April 20, with US availability likely in the final week of April. So if you are in the States, you are probably looking at late April before you can actually get your hands on one.

A Quick Specs Refresher

We covered the full spec breakdown when the leaks first surfaced, but here is the short version for anyone just catching up. The Pocket 4 packs a 1-inch sensor with 14 stops of dynamic range, 4K recording at 120fps in 10-bit D-Log, 2x lossless zoom via sensor crop, 4-channel audio (up from stereo on the Pocket 3), 107 GB of built-in storage with 800 MB/s transfer speeds, Wi-Fi 6, and a 1,545 mAh battery claiming over 200 minutes of runtime. Intelligent Follow 7.0 handles subject tracking.

Pricing is expected between $499 and $599 for the base model, with the Creator Combo landing somewhere in the $649 to $749 range.

Our Take

The fact that DJI is splitting the lineup into a standard and Pro model is the real story here. It means DJI is confident enough in the Pocket line to treat it like a proper product family rather than a single SKU. For creators who just want a reliable pocket stabilized camera for vlogging and travel, the standard Pocket 4 is going to be more than enough. For filmmakers who want that dual-camera versatility for creative transitions and wider coverage, the Pro gives them a reason to wait (or double dip).

We are six days out from the official reveal. At this point, the only thing left to learn is whether DJI has any surprise features they managed to keep out of the leaks. Given how thoroughly this thing got exposed, we would not bet on it, but stranger things have happened.

Are you grabbing the Pocket 4 on launch day, or waiting for the Pro? Let us know.
