The concluding chapter of Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy features over an hour of native IMAX footage — more than double The Dark Knight's 28 minutes. Wally Pfister pushed to shoot the entire film in IMAX but the cameras' noise made dialogue scenes impractical. The iconic opening plane hijack sequence was filmed practically over Inverness, Scotland using a real C-130 Hercules and EMB-110 aircraft with stuntmen suspended in mid-air. Production began at Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, India before moving across six countries over seven months of filming.
