The darkest and most Gothic entry in the Knives Out series sends Benoit Blanc to investigate the death of a divisive Catholic priest inside a remote church. Production designer Rick Heinrichs built the church interiors on soundstages at Leavesden Studios, finding it 'devilishly hard to find a church in England that didn't look several centuries too old for a US church.' Cinematographer Steve Yedlin crafted an inky, high-contrast visual palette with elaborate sun-and-shadow choreography — beams of light breaking through clouds, dimming mid-monologue, and returning at emotional moments — marking a significant departure from the sun-drenched Glass Onion. Yedlin introduced 'creep zooms' to heighten tension throughout the Gothic mystery. Principal photography ran June–August 2024 with additional filming in September. The film premiered at TIFF on September 6, 2025, with a limited theatrical release on November 26 before streaming December 12.
