How to Get the Anamorphic Look on an iPhone

We just did a post on anamorphic lenses for mirrorless cameras, but we do realise that its a really big commitment for some. So the next best bet is to consider some anamorphic lenses and adapters for your iPhone or Android phone.

Why chase anamorphic on a smart phone? Well for those that want to add something different to their feed and content that they create, an anamorphic look would definitely add some production value to your videos - especially if you shoot car content or travel content (which we see a lot of on Instgram).

There are a few companies that are making high quality adapters that work on iPhones especially. There is always a catch and to get the best connection between the phone and the lens, you would get the specially designed case, which does add a bit more cost, but still cheaper than a mirrorless camera and anamorphic lens.

Two to take a look at are:

These attach to the iPhone or Samsung cases that have the specific mount required. From there you shoot as per normal and then do the same post-production work as if the footage was taken from a dedicated camera and traditional anamorphic lens.

Now the look won't be 100% the same as the Hollywood blockbuster you just saw, but it will definitely give you the ability to trick some of your friends and followers that you just upgraded your camera.
