We work both on client work and also fun, influencer/vlog style content and the number one barrier is always having people that are not comfortable being on camera.
And do you the number one question we always get asked?
"What do I do with my hands?"
And that is why friends you need to grab this $30-40 (depending if it is on sale) piece of plastic: Rode Interview Go Handheld Adaptor for Wireless Go (affiliate link)
The one assumption we have to make is that you are using Rode Wireless microphones, but they have been out for an extremely long time so there is a good chance you can find the originals on sale or second hand for a decent price. If it is out of budget - don't worry - since it is just plastic with a cold shoe clip style thing on there, you should be able to put almost any wireless microphone with a clip onto it.
No all of a sudden your employee, client, friend, influencer has something to do with their hands - hold and wave around a microphone. Naturalness in front camera automatically increases 20%.
They also get to live out their dreams of being a pop star or a celebrity, another 10% on the naturalness improvement.
The last benefit (probably the most important actually) is that you will also have much better sounding vocals because the microphone will be in the right direction and close to their mouth.
If you don't believe us - try it or make your own by sticky taping the microphone to something black and cylinder like.
Obviously tag us when you do that and we will reshare!
