Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's epic follows Paul Atreides as he journeys to the desert planet Arrakis. Greig Fraser's Oscar-winning cinematography employed a novel technique of shooting on ARRI Alexa LF, transferring to 35mm film, then scanning back to digital, creating a unique organic texture. The production filmed Arrakis sequences in Jordan's Wadi Rum desert and Abu Dhabi's Liwa Oasis for maximum authenticity.
