The Daniels' mind-bending multiverse thriller follows Evelyn Wang as she discovers parallel lives while being audited by the IRS. Shot in just 38 days on a modest budget, Larkin Seiple's cinematography shifts lighting, lenses, and aspect ratios for each universe. A team of only eight VFX artists created the film's visual effects using Adobe After Effects, combining practical puppets, wires, LED screens, and camera tricks. The film won seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director.
